TCA Architects specializes in the design of public K-12 educational facilities in Maryland.
Our firm was founded in 1973 and has been specializing in K-12 public schools in Maryland since 1985. Since then we have had the pleasure of designing over 80 educational projects, both new construction and addition and renovations to existing schools. In addition, we have performed numerous feasibility studies and reports for our educational clients.
As high-performance buildings have become an industry standard, clients have reached out to TCA to help them through the transition. To date, there is no other architectural firm that has completed construction on more LEED rated Maryland public schools than TCA. We have completed the design of eight high performance LEED schools beginning with Evergreen Elementary School in 2006, which was St. Mary’s County’s first LEED project. The next project was an addition and renovation project for Northfield Elementary School which was Howard County’s first LEED project. In addition, TCA was the designer of Maryland’s First Net Zero School, which is also Howard County’s first Platinum School.
TCA enjoys the challenge of creating innovative spaces that will inspire learning while adhering to our clients’ budgets.
